Kangaroo Bob’s Teaching Concept

Kangaroo Bob’s mission is to attract business partners that are as passionate about running their business as they are about developing young minds. Kangaroo Bob’s was founded by Sam Kellett of Atlanta, Georgia in June of 2005. Mr. Kellett is a businessman, parent, and Pop Warner football coach who deeply cares about child development. For the last five years, Mr. Kellett has developed his child team philosophy while coaching 9-10 year olds football. At the beginning of each season, it has been his observation that league players have had no concept of teamwork. The lack of emphasis put on teamwork by schools and businesses has created the problem; that children do not understand how to work together.

Mr. Kellett believes that the primary reason his teams started to win games was because he taught his players how to become a valuable member of the team. He did this through a combination of structured practices, repetition, creating a fun environment to teach technique, and rewarding his players when they demonstrated they were a valuable member of the team.

Mr. Kellett’s Teamwork Curriculum consists of over 50 branded structured play games that are played every 15 minutes by Kangaroo Bob’s Instructors. Every game is repeated three times and the life lessons are taught without disrupting the flow of the game or having the children lose interest. The games are fun for the children and each child is rewarded when they demonstrate a teamwork attribute.

All life lessons or teamwork attributes pivot off of the “Path to Becoming a Kangaroo Bob’s Champion.” The “path” teaches 16 different life lessons. Each game has primary, secondary, and tertiary life lessons interwoven into the game. The lessons come from the “path” but are chosen in the game creation process only if they are applicable to the game.
